Get to Know our Canadian Office!

TWI Canada opened its doors in 1989, largely due to influence and requests by Canadian Aerospace companies. At the close of the Paris Airshow that year, it was decided that our Canadian clients’ growing needs deserved to be handed locally by Canadians. We provide the same services to our Canadian clients that our US colleagues provide to the American exhibitors - shipping to and from International, USA and domestic shows here in Canada, as well as import services to foreign exhibitors attending Canadian shows. Our clientele ranges from some of the very big Canadian names to the small start up businesses. Over the years we have seen some of the smaller companies grow to become a large presence in the industry and like to think that we contributed to their success. In the beginning it was a one-person office, but today we have 6 staff members I would like to introduce to you: Janet Prince – Janet has been with TWI since 1997 and has been instrumental in the growth of the division. Janet has many years in the logistics industry and her client base focuses on the IT/Communications, Power Generation and Mining sectors. Janet truly loves to travel and is always willing to go to a show at the drop of a hat. Chris Morrison – Chris joined the team in 2002 coming to us with a sales background in the print industry. Chris’s client base is the Aerospace and Defence and Building and Construction sector. While Chris takes his work with TWI very seriously, he missed his calling as a stand up comedian. His impersonations are spot on and very entertaining. Derek Pimentel - Since joining us in 2006, Derek has made inroads in some fresh areas for TWI – the medical, gaming industries as well as expanding our import services business for shows in Canada. Derek has a keen sence of humour and always keeps us laughing. Jackie Horner - Jackie started with TWI in 1997 as a summer university student. Fourteen years later, Jackie is our one woman Operations Department, making sure your freight gets where it needs to be when it needs to be there. Shan Beg - Shan became the backbone of our office when she arrived in 2003. As our administrative support, Shan keeps everything running from the coffee maker to the printers! Keeping us organized with a smile and a laugh, Shan has just returned to us after a year long absence and we’re very pleased to have her back on the team. Sandi Trotter - I oversee the operation, making sure we’re on target and where we need to be. Budgeting, strategic planning and problem solving fall under my wing. After 18 years in the “hot seat,” every week brings a new challenge we haven’t seen before! Our division has the highest service record in the company - a combined 61 years of service with TWI and this is certainly one of our success factors. Over the years, we have moved many tonnes of freight, solved what seemed to be insurmountable logistics roadblocks, had several weddings, and numerous offspring! We also hold the company record for maternity leaves! TWI Canada is proud to be a member of the following organizations: IELA International Exhibition Logistics Association CIFFA Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association CAEM Canadian Association of Exposition Managers. We are also pleased to say that we work with the following Canadian tradeshow organizers, assisting to make Canada’s presence at the shows successful: * Aerospace Industries Association of Canada * Canada Unlimited * Co-Mar Management Services/Hannover Fairs Canada * Unilink International Media * Venky Rao Consultants The economic client of late has taught us to continually evolve with the ever-changing priorities of tradeshow logistics. The bottom line, though, truly is that a happy, satisfied client is one that will contribute to our continued growth and success. So it is our challenge to continually look for ways to improve our service. -- Sandi Trotter has been with TWI since 1993 in various positions and was instrumental in expanding TWI Canada's business to include shipping to shows in the United States. Currently the Director of our Canadian operation, Sandi is an active member of the International Exhibition Logistics Associates as a participant on the Membership Committee.
